Sustainable Development Goals n°4: Support inclusive and quality education

January 1, 2019

While 57 million of children remain out of school, BNP Paribas committed to support inclusive and quality education and promotes lifelong learning.

BNP Paribas is involved in this Sustainable Development Goal through three drivers of action: professional development for its employees; education and professional integration through its Foundation; and promoting financial education for the general public.

If enrolment in primary education in developing countries has reached 91%, 57 million of children remain out of school.”

What are our initiatives in favor of education?

The BNP Paribas Swiss Foundation launched in 2016 the “Prix BD Zoom” jointly with the Department of Public Instruction, Culture & Sport of Geneva. This comic book award goal is to encourage reading among young people, especially those coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, while discovering the diversity of the art of comic books in French-speaking Switzerland.

This award enables over 600 young students from Secondary II level, coming in particular from the professional training sector and welcoming classes, to read and analyze a selection of Swiss comic books. The students act as the jury of the award and elect the laureate author to win a CHF 10’000 prize. Discover more about this initiative in this short video.
