Corporate philanthropy: necessary evil or a force for social innovation?

On the 13th of June 2017 and in the context of its 15th anniversary, the BNP Paribas Swiss Foundation is organising a round table around the theme of “Corporate philanthropy in Geneva: necessary evil or a driving force for social innovation?”.

The event will be relayed live via the Bank’s Twitter account.

Patrons and partners, actors from the public and private sectors and representatives from social and cultural spheres will be gathered together to exchange on key actors in the philanthropy field.

This debate is the ideal occasion to present and discuss the following issues:

  • Corporate philanthropy in French speaking Switzerland,
  • Relations between Business foundations and beneficiaries,
  • Corporate philanthropy , a driving force for social innovation?

The round table will be moderated by Ms Delphine Bottge, lawyer specialised in philanthropy and patronage, and will be relayed live on the  BNP Paribas Suisse Twitter account. On 1st August 2016, Joël Goldstein took over the direction of Pro Senectute Geneva, having worked for 25 years at EMS Les Marronniers, first as a social worker, then, from 1999, as director. Joël also held a strategic role for 10 years in the context of the construction project for the new EMS of 63 beds. Trained as a social worker and gerontologist, he constantly labours for the dignity and the recognition of the elderly.

Advisor in strategic philanthropy, Karin accompanies patrons in implementing their philanthropic projects, while combining the precision of strategic expertise and a passion for the social sector. Multilingual, her professional career has carried her over 4 continents, from McKinsey & Company to humanitarian work with the Red Cross, from corporate social responsibility at FSG to directing philanthropic foundations and developing philanthropic expertise with Lombard Odier, which she ran until 2015. As part of the SwissFoundations director’s committee, from 2011 until 2017, she has actively endeavoured to develop the Swiss philanthropic sector.

Nadia Keckeis, deputy director of the Cantonal Office of Culture and Sport in Geneva, is in charge of access to culture and sport for all. Natacha Koutchoumov is an actress, stage director and educator. She has been working in theatre and cinema for 20 years. She regularly participates at the Manufactory as well as in other prestigious art schools (ECAL, HEAD). As of July 2017, Natacha will co-direct the Comedy of Geneva along with Denis Maillefer.
