YOUR WORKDAY

 

The Senior Relationship Manager leads the end‑to‑end management of a high‑net‑worth client portfolio, drives new‑business acquisition and mentors junior relationship managers. You will act as a trusted bank partner for sophisticated clients and as a “business developer” for the Wealth Management franchise in Switzerland.

 

Marketing & Sales

 

  • Define and execute a comprehensive acquisition strategy for HNWI, family‑office and entrepreneur prospects, leveraging your extensive personal network and market intelligence.
  • Lead the design and rollout of high‑impact marketing initiatives that reinforce BNP Paribas’ brand positioning in the German‑Swiss market.
  • Oversee the development of customised sales‑and‑marketing plans for each prospect, ensuring alignment with their strategic objectives and the Bank’s solution portfolio.
  • Conduct regular client outreach, monitor pipeline health and report on performance against revenue, asset‑growth and Net‑New‑Client (NNC) targets.
  • Coordinate with internal specialists across Investment Banking, Asset Management, Corporate Banking and other divisions to deliver integrated, cross‑border solutions.
  • Perform deep‑dive portfolio reviews, providing strategic advisory that incorporates the full range of BNP Paribas Wealth Management products.
  • Identify and champion cross‑selling opportunities, translating them into actionable proposals for clients.
  • Guarantee compliance with all suitability, regulatory and risk‑management standards throughout the client journey.
  • Direct the onboarding of new accounts, ensuring all documentation, KYC and compliance checks are completed flawlessly.

Team & Senior-RM Support

 

  • Mentor and coach Junior and Relationship Managers, sharing expertise on client acquisition, portfolio management and risk compliance.
  • Lead the preparation of sophisticated client presentations, investment proposals and market analyses in partnership with Senior‑RM peers.
  • Drive internal knowledge‑sharing initiatives, lead best‑practice workshops and coordinate cross‑functional projects that raise the overall performance of the relationship management team.

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in wealth management, private banking, corporate banking or investment banking, with a proven track‑record of independently managing a high‑net‑worth client book.
  • University degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related discipline; professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building deep, trusted relationships with ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals, families and family offices.
  • Strong leadership mindset demonstrated ability to coach junior colleagues and influence cross‑functional teams.

 YOUR WORK DAY
 
 As a core member of the Expertise Financing Solutions team you will set the standard for excellence by leading the design, structuring and execution of Swiss‑specific financing products – including Lombard facilities, secured mortgages and unsecured loans – both for transactions already booked and for those pending at the Swiss booking centre.
 
 Management and Structuring
 
 A critical first mandate will be: 

  • As a member of the Swiss Expertise Financing Solutions team, you will lead by example, overseeing the structuring and coordination of Swiss‑specific financing solutions —including Lombard, secured mortgage, and unsecured facilities — both those already booked and those pending booking at the Swiss booking centre.
  • Assist the team on their files, which includes: 
    1. Efficient Time-to-Market: create a culture of high customer service and make sure the team is reactive/owner to new opportunities raised by the Front-Office teams
    2. Help the creation of “Deal Team” when necessary and favor coordination with other internal departments (Wealth Planning, Legal, CIB or other Métier of BNPP Group etc…)
    3. Properly understand the Bank’s Risk appetite and help seek a consensus with Risk teams
    4. Assess the need to inform or seek the necessary internal support when adequate (Head of Financing Solutions / CEO WM Switzerland / Head Office Financing Solutions)
    5. Solution oriented mind-set AND capacity to dismiss (with pedagogy) inappropriate deals
    6. Participate to the negotiation of terms & conditions with Relationship Managers and Credit Structurers and final Private Clients when needed to start/monitor discussions efficiently.
  • Act as a gatekeeper to ensure high quality of credit papers / Executive Summary / support memos drafted by the team
  • Promote internal marketing on key / transforming deals booked by the team

As part of the Financing Solutions Hub, you will be part of our Structuring Competence Center, supporting Financing Solutions teams on the complex financings needs (notably but not only Swiss mortgages and Private Equity financing) for our largest clients. In that role, you will also be working closely with Wealth Management Bankers in Switzerland and across the various other GAIM booking centres.

Commercial Actions and Animations

  • Promote credit and position the team close to the Front office teams and make sure they participate in market commercial meetings / Book reviews
  • Encourage and propose regular credit trainings to FO teams and participation as expert to various FO events

Project Management

  • Take the lead on various projects assigned to the team, notably the Swiss basics files mortgage project
  • Contribute to the enlargement of BNPP Financing Solutions offer
  • Accompanying the deployment and marketing of the funds financing credit offering for which you will be the central contact
  • Leading a community of structuring officers for the large WM clients, in Switzerland (where two Credit Structurers will report hierarchically to you),
  • Finally, you will contribute to the portfolio management and the preparation of the strategy on the various structured finance products, particularly during annual management presentations.

Based in Zurich and travelling regularly to other locations, you will operate in a completely revamped work environment, in full flex office with teleworking.

  • Yes, if you are a credit structuring professional with 15 to 20 years of transactional background in specialized financing including private equity / funds financing and if you are used to working in an international environment.

Portfolio Manager

This position will be based in Geneva or Zurich.
This position requires a Swiss residency.

YOUR TEAM

  • The DPM team in Switzerland is composed of nine senior portfolio managers (PM) based in Geneva and is part of a larger network of managers located in Luxemburg, Germany and Portugal. The team covers all main asset classes, manages a wide range of investment solutions in EUR, USD and CHF and is directly client-facing. In addition, PMs work closely with commercial teams on business development especially of the UHNWI segment.

YOUR WORK DAY

Participate in the Investment Process

  • Monitor financial markets closely and contribute to tactical‑asset‑allocation discussions and decisions.
  • Serve as an active member of one of our instrument selection committees (Equity, Funds/ETFs or Fixed Income): contribute to the analysis, selection, model‑portfolio construction and follow‑up of the chosen investments.
  • Depending on the candidate’s investment expertise, take an active role in managing the related investment solutions
    • contribute to the construction of the solution’s model portfolios,
    • comment on investment decisions,
    • assume responsibility for performance and risk management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the investment process and to the evolution of the investment solutions under your responsibility.

Portfolio Management Responsibilities

  • Manage tailor-made mandates autonomously, respecting each client’s risk profile and specific constraints. Ensure close operational involvement and follow-up with the portfolio implementation team. Understand performance contribution drivers. Maintain a close relation with both RMs and clients.
  • Monitor client mandates entrusted to you that follow standard investment solutions. Liaise with the Front Office to manage flows and with the portfolio implementation team to keep the portfolios aligned with the Model Portfolios.
  • Apply the Bank’s investment guidelines and financial regulations rigorously.
  • Prepare clients reporting in a clear, didactic and precise manner.

Promote Discretionary Portfolio Management services

  • Participate regularly in client meetings, portfolio reviews and performance explanations to maintain a high level of client satisfaction and increase share‑of‑wallet.
  • Build tailor‑made investment proposals for clients or prospects, aligned with their investment profile and needs.
  • Contribute to semi-institutional or complex requests for proposals (RfP).
  • Promote DPM services and investment solutions with Front Office staff, clients and prospects, reinforcing the image of excellence of the team and of the Bank
  • Take part in, or lead, development or transversal projects entrusted to you.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Proven experience in wealth management and/or asset management (minimum 7 years).
  • Proven experience in managing multi-asset strategies and/or single-asset class solutions (minimum 5 years).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German; French is a plus.
