Internship – Global Markets FICC – Corporate Rates & FX Sales (6 months – starting 1st March 2025)

This position will be based in Zurich for a duration of 6 months. Expected start date is 1st March 2025.

Description of the assignment

Are you interested in working in a fast-paced and challenging environment on a trading floor in our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division? We are looking for someone like you to join us as an Intern with the opportunity to become a Graduate Trainee in CIB Global Markets and its Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) franchise in our Zurich Office. You will get the chance to deepen your knowledge not only with respect to the specific business line but to Investment Banking in general and gain experience and seniority to be able to participate to the commercial objectives of the relevant business line. Furthermore, as an integral part of the team you will be responsible for various tasks and contribute to the team’s objectives and success.
 

YOUR WORK DAY

During the program we offer you:

  • Insight into BNP Paribas’ Global Markets FICC Corporate Sales private-side teams, including daily interactions with large and mid-cap corporate clients
  • Wide variety of tasks and the possibility to take on responsibility across Foreign Exchange & Local Markets (FXLM) and Rates, Options and Commodities (ROC) business streams
  • The opportunity to improve your technical knowledge as well as your soft skills, and to work with a wide community of international professionals (trading, structuring and research teams etc.)
  • Relevant in-house training programs to stay updated on regulatory, product and technical knowledge

Your main Tasks & duties consist but are not limited to:

  • Marketing a broad range of FICC products with a focus on Foreign Exchange (FX) and Interest Rate (IR) Derivatives
  • Serving our client base by providing respective research and marketing material
  • Contributing to a strong partnership within our FICC franchise in Switzerland, across EMEA and globally
  • Contributing to cross selling & promote the firm’s brand
  • Providing support in presentations, projects and administrative work to the team
  • Attending relevant training courses to maintain appropriate regulatory, product and technical skills
  • Adhering to regulatory requirements and conduct standards

YOUR TEAM

You will work within the Corporate & Institutional Banking Global Markets FICC franchise and will be located on the trading floor in our Zurich Office. The team’s mandate covers a wide range of products and markets them to a variety of Swiss domestic and multinational corporate clients. You will get the chance to work with and alongside experienced professionals and learn about the Global Market business lines of a European player of reference.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Recently graduated from University with a Master’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or Mathematics or equivalent qualification
  • Equivalent qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in mentioned fields with relevant work experience (minimum 1 year) and/or additional certifications (CFA, FRM, CIIA) 
  • Good understanding and a genuine interest for financial markets (derivatives, financial market instruments, etc.)
  • Preferably with a first banking experience, ideally within investment banking and global markets
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a dynamic personality
  • Self-motivation combined with a strong team spirit and fast-learning attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and international environment
