Description of the assignment

As a Graduate Trainee, you will deepen your knowledge regarding the business line you are working in and the bank in general to gain experience and seniority to be able to participate to the commercial objectives of the relevant business line. You will be part of the team and become responsible for various tasks to contribute to the team objectives.

During the programme we offer you

  • The possibility to take on responsibility in our Transaction Banking department which drives the Cash Management, Trade Finance, and Supply Chain Management businesses

  • To support the monitoring of the business performance of the franchise in close cooperation with the Head of Transaction Banking department for Switzerland.

Main activities

The key duties and responsibilities include:

Trade and Supply Chain solutions

  • Preparation of pricing offers for Guarantees, Documentary Business, legal documents and international guarantee issuances’ coordination for an assigned customer portfolio and potentially for Senior Trade Managers
  • Support the marketing activities and the monthly reporting in collaboration with the Trade Manager (revenues, costs, sales pipelines)
  • Lead the market research and working capital analysis in view of supporting the marketing of Supply Chain Financing solutions
  • Preparation of client visits and presentations
  • Visits of some Clients together with Senior Trade Managers and preparation of call reports
  • Be a point of contact for all kind of customer requests (including the ones coming from the Global Trade Network for local re-issuance in Switzerland at the request of other Trade   Centres)
  • Support the credit process (incl. preparation of memos for the credit committee) in  collaboration with other departments of the bank

Cash Management

  • In close cooperation with the dedicated Client Support Teams, ensure a follow-up of the daily client requests with regard to the transaction processing and management of the E-Banking platforms
  • Handling of Cash Management client pricing (sizing and monitoring)
  • Being the primary contact for all matters related to cash management contractual documentation (preparation, sending, monitoring/check of the executed documentation)
  • Ensure a follow-up on the client implementation on the Cash Management products (planning, quality, monetization of the deals)
  • Support the Product Cash Management Head on the definition of client business requirements for the development of new solutions and improvement of internal processes
  • Support Cash Management Sales Officers in the drafting of client pitch

Business Management

  • Performance monitoring of the Transaction Banking business (update of business dashboard, organisation of pipeline reviews with Sales teams)
  • Market intelligence (business trends, competitors strategies, innovation)
  • Organisation of client events

Searched profile

Required skills and experience:

  • University Degree in Banking/Economics/Finance or equivalent
  • A strong interest in the area of Corporate Banking and Working Capital Financing in general
  • Preferably with a first banking experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, fluency in German and English (our primary working language), French is an advantage
  • Proactivity, enthusiasm, self-motivation to learn, combined with a strong team spirit
  • Ability to set priorities, be flexible, well organized and enjoy working in a dynamic and international environment
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint programs
