BNP Paribas Switzerland

Searching for Talents

“At BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA, our goal is to identify recent graduates with unique talents. These might be expressed through a particular skill set, a unique ability or special knowledge. What makes our teams successful is their variety: we look for people who have differentiated themselves during their university studies.

A Talented individual has the capacity to respond and innovate in a complex, competitive and constantly changing environment. He or she will have the capacity to adapt in response to current and future developments in the bank’s businesses and, of course, to the changing needs of our customers. A genuinely Talented individual possesses the ability to continuously adapt and respond. He or she creates change to meet goals that serve the needs of the company. To maximise the effectiveness of our Talents, we offer each of them targeted training programmes.”

BNP Paribas (Suisse) S.A.

Why did you choose to work for BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA in the first place?

We live in a world that is constantly changing and evolving. This infinite change presents infinite opportunities for learning and development. At the end of my MBA studies, I sought to be integrated into a company that embraces and embodies change. BNP Paribas’s slogan is “The bank for a changing world.” Furthermore, the breadth and scope of BNP Paribas activities as one of the 5 largest banks in the world and its reputation for the advancement and training of young professionals made it my number one choice.

As I am interested in commodity finance, it was only natural to join BNP Paribas Suisse SA in Geneva, the original pioneers of the sector that remain a model/reference for other market players.

What was it about this job that attracted you?

The trade of goods and services is one of the oldest and most important professions that exist. It has grown from fishing tribes bartering goods with their agricultural neighbours, to billions of goods passing daily through multimodal transport systems. The financing of these goods ensure that billions of people around the world have access to food, energy and basic goods. However, banks also play an important role in promoting and maintaining transparency and evoking positive change in this industry.

My role as a commodity finance professional enables me to have a positive impact, not only by acting for the business through the evaluation of risk in empowering our clients to achieve their objectives, but more profoundly by acting beyond the business for the benefit of all.
