Reconcile pleasure, health and climate by investing in a sustainable food and agriculture value chain.
On Feb 28th, BNP Paribas Investment Partners (Suisse) organized an event in Geneva around the theme of “a sustainable food chain” named “la Solution est dans l’assiette“.
2 interesting presentations were given to an audience of professional investors :
- Thierry Touchais, Executive Director of the Goodplanet Foundation, insisted on everyone’s capacity to contribute to a responsible behaviour when it’s about eating.

The Goodplanet Foundation was created in 2005 by the famous photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand to raise public awareness of ecology, making it a central issue, and to inspire a desire to take positive action. BNP Paribas is proud to be a founding member and a partner of the foundation.
- Michael Landymore, who is the portfolio manager of PARVEST SMART FOOD fund at BNP Paribas/ Impax Asset Management explained how investors can contribute to a sustainable food chain while taking advantage of an obviously growing sector – this fund’s philosophy being to favour investing in food and agriculture companies that bring solutions to preserve the environment within the whole food chain (from production to consumption, via growers and inputs, food safety, water-saving food processes, sustainable packaging, transportation,…).
